Sky Hook Rotisserie Basketball League
Welcome to what for some of us is our fourth
rotisserie sport. This one is designed to be a low budget, fun, time filler
during the baseball off-season. With that said, let me roll out the rules for
our 19th season.
We will field 6-10 teams to be bought at
auction.
The season normally starts on the last
Tuesday in October. The auction will be normally be held on the weekend prior
to the start of the season at my house. Call me if you need directions. Teams
will consist of 20 players to be bought for a total of $80.
The auction will follow our standard format
and the minimum bid will be $0.25 with $0.25 increments.
A fee of $120 will be collected from each
team before the auction commences so that I don’t have to chase down money
during the season.
Immediately following the auction a 5
round random order draft will be held to give each team some injury flexibility
during the season. Draft order for the 2nd round will reverse that
of the first and so on for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
Our teams will be evaluated in 6 evenly
weighted categories:
1. Points scored
2. Rebounds
3. Assists
4. Steals
5. Blocked shots
6. 3-pt field goals made
Teams will accumulate their totals in each
category throughout the year. Updated totals and standings will be issued daily
and made available to all teams on our web site. Jeff Buchoff will get his
auction fee credited towards his baseball team in return for providing this
wonderful service.
Each week teams will choose 16 of their 20
roster players to be active. Scratches should be made by phone (to my home) or
email by 12 noon on Monday of each week. Teams not sending email will be
assumed to have scratched the same players as the previous week. There is no
fee for this weekly change. I will email a weekly transaction update to
everyone.
1.
RESERVE LIST- The reserve list’s main
purpose is to protect a team from being blown out by injuries. However, I don’t
want to be the arbiter of what constitutes an injury. Therefore, a team may
make a 1 to 1 switch of a roster player for a reserve player at any time for a
fee of $10. This price should discourage frivolous moves.
2.
TRADES- Trades may be made freely by all
teams prior to the last uncalled traveling violation of the NBA all-star game.
After this time trades may only be made by teams within 3 points of each other
in the standings until March 1st.
No trades shall be made after this date. Trades are FREE and may be
unbalanced. However, all teams must
have a maximum of 20 players on their roster. Extra players are assigned to
that teams reserve list. Reserve list players may be traded but the $10 fee
would still have to be paid to elevate them to another team’s roster. Trades
need to be called in to the machine by both teams prior to 12 noon on Mondays.
3. TRADE RULES FOR
2009-2010
a. A maximum of 4 players
may be involved in any deal.
b. No 3 for 1 trades are
allowed.
c. Teams may trade with the
same team only twice. One deal may be made before the 2nd chance
auction and one after.
4.
ALL-STAR SECOND CHANCE AUCTION-
On the Sunday of all-star weekend a
mini-auction will be held. Teams may dump up to 4 of their players and bid for
an equal number of players from a pool of dumped and originally unbought
players. Teams may spend no more than the total salary of the players they have
dumped. Teams may NOT buy back players that they have dumped. If you cut a guy,
say sayonara to him. Cuts will be made just before the draft.
1st- 50%
2nd- 25%
3rd- 15%
4th- 10%
